Setting Up Your AI Agents

What Alivo builds for you during onboarding, and the pieces you get to shape.

An agent in Alivo is an AI teammate that talks to your leads on your behalf, whether that is answering the phone, texting a new web lead, or chasing an unsigned estimate. During onboarding, you do not build these from scratch. Alivo builds them for you, tuned to your business, and your job is to review and approve what they will say. This page gives you the high-level picture: what the agents are, how they come together during your setup, and what you will be able to adjust once you are live.

Meet the Agents

Each agent is built for a specific job in your business. During onboarding, your specialist helps you decide which ones you need on day one. You do not have to turn everything on at once, and most contractors start with one or two.

Agent Role What It Handles
Lilly AI Receptionist Answers inbound calls, qualifies callers, books inspections, and routes calls to your team when needed.
Evan Follow-up Specialist Texts new digital leads from web forms, aggregators, and other online sources to book an inspection or estimate.
Alex Rehash Specialist Follows up on unsigned estimates by text and phone to answer questions and get the homeowner to sign.
Jenna Review Specialist Asks happy customers for Google reviews after a job is done, with a separate path for unhappy experiences.

How Your Agents Get Built During Onboarding

Agent setup is one of the things Alivo handles for you as part of the white-glove setup, meaning we do the work rather than handing you a manual. Here is roughly how it plays out across your onboarding timeline.

  • You share the basics. Your onboarding form tells us what work you do, what areas you serve, and how you want calls and leads handled. That is the raw material for your agents.
  • You review scripts on your first call. On your implementation deep dive, you and your onboarding specialist walk through the scripts together, meaning the conversation playbook for what each agent says and how it handles common situations.
  • Alivo builds and you approve. While we configure your account, your scripts come to you for sign-off. Approving them promptly is one of the two things that keeps your go-live on schedule.
  • You meet your agents at go-live. On your go-live call, your team hears the agents in action and learns where everything lives in the platform.

Good to know: the presets are just starting points. You can rename any agent and change its settings at any time, and your specialist keeps refining scripts with you during your 90-day onboarding period.

The Pieces Inside Every Agent

Every agent is made of the same building blocks. You do not need to master these before go-live, but knowing the names helps when you review your setup with your specialist.

  • Goal and destination. The one outcome the agent works toward, like booking an inspection, and where a successful lead gets sent, like your booking page.
  • Scripts. What the agent says first and how it handles different situations, for both texts and calls.
  • Knowledge and FAQs. Facts about your business the agent can draw on, plus question-and-answer pairs for things homeowners ask a lot, like "Do you serve my area?"
  • Follow-ups. Automated check-ins when a lead goes quiet, on a schedule you control, with rules for when to stop.
  • Call forwarding. When and how the agent hands a live call to a real person on your team, with a warm transfer that briefs your rep first if you want it.
  • Voice. For phone agents, how the agent sounds, how fast it speaks, and optional background ambience.

What You Will Learn to Run Yourself

After go-live, the day-to-day tweaks are yours if you want them. Most owners start by adjusting FAQs when a new question keeps coming up, then get comfortable editing scripts and follow-up timing. Your specialist covers this in your ongoing sessions, and nothing you change is set in stone, so you can experiment safely. For a deeper look at every agent setting, see Understanding Alivo Agents.

The takeaway: your agents arrive ready to work, built from what you tell us and approved by you before they ever talk to a customer. Your job during onboarding is to review, approve, and speak up about anything that does not sound like your business, and ours is everything else.
