How to Review Conversations in Alivo
Read agent threads, track activity, and mark contacts as reviewed.
Reviewing conversations is how you keep tabs on what your AI agents are doing. Every text, call, and email your agents send or receive shows up in a conversation thread tied to the contact. This guide walks you through where to find that activity, how to read it, and how to mark contacts as reviewed so nothing slips past you.
Where to See Agent Activity
You have three main places to check on your agents:
- Audience table. Your contact list shows Current Agent (which agent is handling the most recent conversation), Latest Activity (a one-line summary like "Text Received" or "Call Made"), and Review Status (whether you have looked at the contact yet).
- Contact detail page. Click any contact in the Audience table to open the full conversation thread, contact info, and a Conversation Summary.
- Live Activity on the dashboard. A rolling feed of everything that happened in the last 24 hours across all contacts.
What the Activity Columns Tell You
The Audience table gives you a quick scan without opening every contact:
| Column | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Current Agent | The name of the AI agent on the contact's most recent conversation. Shows "No Agent Assigned" if there is no active conversation. |
| Latest Activity | The most recent event, such as a text sent or received, a call made or received, an email, a booked event, or a signed document. |
| Messages | Total SMS count for the contact. |
| Latest Call Outcome | The result of the most recent phone call. |
| Review Status | Whether you have reviewed this contact (see below). |
Rule of thumb: Sort or filter the Audience table by Review Status = New to build a daily review queue. Work through that list before the day gets away from you.
How to Read a Conversation
Click a contact in the Audience table to open their detail page (or use the preview drawer to peek without leaving the list). The conversation panel shows the full thread:
- Texts. Every SMS your agent sent and every reply from the contact.
- Calls. Call records with transcripts you can read through.
- Emails. Inbound and outbound emails tied to the conversation.
- Conversation Summary. A short AI-generated recap of what happened in the thread so far.
Use the Actions menu on a conversation to Stop AI and take over manually, Turn AI On to hand it back, or manage follow-ups. If something looks off, you can reply yourself right from the thread.
Review Status: Marking Contacts as Reviewed
Review Status is your checklist for whether you have looked at a contact. It is separate from the thumbs up/down feedback and separate from customer star reviews. Here are the statuses you will see:
- New. No one has reviewed this contact yet.
- Reviewed. Someone on your team has looked at it.
- Sequence Completed. The agent finished its follow-up sequence. Treated as reviewed automatically.
- Review Submitted, Review Promoter, Review Detractor. Tied to customer review requests (Jenna, the reviews agent). These update when a contact submits a star review.
Three Ways to Update Review Status
You can mark a contact as reviewed from any of these spots:
- Inline in the Audience table. Click the Review Status cell on any row and pick a new status.
- Filter panel. Filter by Review Status to focus on New contacts, then update them as you go.
- Pipeline view. Switch to pipeline view and group by review status. Drag a contact into the Reviewed column to mark it reviewed, or drag it back to New if you need to revisit it.
Giving Feedback on Agent Conversations
Below the conversation thread you will see thumbs up and thumbs down buttons. Use these to flag conversations where the agent did well or where something went wrong. This is internal feedback for your team, not something the contact sees.
Thumbs up/down is different from Review Status. You can mark a contact as Reviewed and still leave a thumbs down if the agent mishandled something. Both are useful for different reasons.
Dashboard Live Activity
The Live Activity feed on your dashboard shows the last 24 hours of activity across your whole account: texts, calls, emails, bookings, link clicks, and more. It is a good catch-all if you want to spot something you missed in the Audience table.
Keep in mind: Live Activity only covers the last 24 hours. For older conversations, use the Audience table or open the contact directly. Sales Reps only see activity for contacts they own.
Reviewing conversations does not have to take long. Build a habit of filtering for New contacts, scanning Latest Activity and Current Agent in the table, and opening anything that needs a closer look. Mark contacts Reviewed as you go, and use thumbs up/down when an agent deserves credit or needs a script tweak. That is enough to stay on top of what your agents are doing day to day.
