How to Get the Most Out of Landing Pages
Practical ways to put your pages to work, from home shows to appointment texts.
A landing page is a simple web page you build inside Alivo and share with a link. You do not need a web designer or a separate website tool. This guide walks through the most useful ways contractors put landing pages to work, from a quick page before a home show to a personalized link inside an appointment confirmation text.
What Landing Pages Are Good For
Think of a landing page as a focused page for one job. It is not your full company website. It is a single link you can drop into a text, email, QR code, or social profile when you want someone to see one clear message and take one clear action.
Alivo ships with three starter templates that map to common jobs:
- About us. An evergreen page for cold traffic. Good for truck wraps, yard signs, social profiles, and booth handouts.
- Appointment confirmed. A rich post-booking page with a countdown, map, and day-of checklist. Best when a homeowner has already scheduled.
- Appointment reminder. A lighter day-before or morning-of page with event details and prep info.
You can also start from a blank page and add only what you need. For a full walkthrough of creating and editing pages, see the setup guide in this knowledge base.
Spin Up a Page Before a Home Show
Home shows do not give you much time to get ready. You need a link you can print on a flyer, show on a tablet, or text to someone who stops at your booth.
What to Build
Start from the About us template or a blank page. Add a booking form, calendar, or routing form block so visitors can schedule on the spot. Layer in a trust strip, reviews, and a photo gallery so the page does real selling while you are talking to the next person in line.
How to Share It
Once the page is saved, copy the public link from Marketing → Landing Pages or hit Publish in the editor to copy it. Put that link on your booth materials. Anyone who scans or clicks sees your page right away.
Rule of thumb: For booth traffic, keep the page short. One strong hero, proof you are legit, and one clear way to book. You can always add more blocks later.
Put a QR Code on a Wrapped Truck
A wrapped truck is a rolling billboard. A QR code on the side gives curious drivers a fast way to learn about you without typing a long URL.
Alivo does not generate QR codes for you. That is fine. Use any free QR code tool online, paste in your landing page link, and download the image for your wrap designer.
The About us template is built for exactly this kind of evergreen traffic. Someone scans the code on a Tuesday afternoon, lands on your page, and can book an inspection on their own time. No appointment context is attached, so the page shows your standard company info rather than a personalized countdown.
Make the Page Worth Scanning
- Lead with trust. BBB badge, Google rating, license info. A cold visitor needs a reason to keep reading.
- Show real work. A photo gallery of recent jobs in your area goes a long way.
- One clear CTA. "Book a free inspection" beats a page with five different buttons.
Meet Your Sales Rep Pages
When a homeowner books an inspection, they want to know who is showing up. A Meet Your Sales Rep page introduces the rep, shares a photo, and builds trust before anyone knocks on the door.
Set the Link on the Team Member
Go to Settings → Team, open the rep's profile, and paste the landing page URL into the Landing page link field. This is typically a page you built just for that rep, with their photo, bio, and reviews.
Once that link is saved on the user, Alivo handles the rest for standard appointment messages:
- Confirmation texts automatically append a "Meet Your Sales Rep" line with the link (unless the appointment was canceled).
- Reminder texts do the same.
- Confirmation and reminder emails include a Meet Your Sales Rep section with the rep's photo and a button linking to the page.
Alivo also adds tracking parameters to that link behind the scenes so the page can greet the homeowner by name and show appointment details when personalized blocks are on the page.
Good to know: On dispatch-style events where the host name is hidden, the Meet Your Sales Rep section in emails only appears if the host has a landing page link set.
Add Landing Page Links to Confirmations and Reminders
Beyond the automatic Meet Your Sales Rep link, you can drop a landing page link directly into your custom confirmation and reminder messages.
Use a Message Variable
When editing an event type's custom SMS or email under Settings → Scheduling, use the variable picker to insert a landing page token. It looks like [LANDING_PAGE:your-page-slug], where the slug is the short name in your page's URL.
At send time, Alivo replaces that token with the full link, including the appointment and homeowner details needed for personalized blocks. If the slug matches the host's landing page link, the system uses that enriched URL automatically.
When to Use Each Approach
| Goal | Best Approach | What the Homeowner Sees |
|---|---|---|
| Introduce the sales rep | Set Landing page link on the team member | Auto "Meet Your Sales Rep" line in texts and emails |
| Share a custom page (checklist, gallery, FAQ) | Insert [LANDING_PAGE:slug] in the message | Your chosen page, personalized to their appointment |
| General marketing (truck QR, social) | Copy the public link directly | Standard page with no personal details |
Personalized vs. Anonymous Visits
Some landing page blocks change based on who is visiting. A countdown hero shows the real appointment time. A map block can point to the homeowner's address. Greeting text can use their first name.
That personalization kicks in when the link includes appointment and homeowner info, which Alivo adds automatically when the link goes out through a confirmation, reminder, or campaign message. A cold link from a truck QR code or social post visits the page anonymously. Personalized blocks either hide or show generic placeholder content.
When you preview a saved page in the editor, you can test both modes: preview as a homeowner with a sample appointment, or preview as an anonymous visitor.
Update a Live Page Anytime
Landing pages do not have a separate draft and publish step. Once a page is saved with a URL slug, it is live. Edits save automatically and show up on the public link right away.
That is a feature, not a bug. Swap out a photo gallery before storm season. Fix a typo on your truck-wrap page. Add a new FAQ after a home show. You do not need to republish or regenerate a QR code unless you change the page slug itself (which would break an old link).
Track What Is Working
On Marketing → Landing Pages, each page shows total visits and unique visitors. Use that to see whether your truck QR page is getting traffic or whether your appointment confirmation page is actually being opened.
For appointment-linked pages, the real win is fewer no-shows and warmer conversations on the doorstep. A homeowner who already read your checklist and saw your reviews shows up more prepared and more trusting.
Landing pages work best when each one has a clear job. Build the right page for the moment, put the link where homeowners will actually see it, and let Alivo personalize it when the visit is tied to a booked appointment. Start with one use case, get the link out, and expand from there.
