How to Connect Thumbtack to Alivo

Import Thumbtack leads into Alivo and let your agent respond while the job is still fresh.

Thumbtack sends project inquiries from homeowners looking for local pros. Connecting it to Alivo means those leads show up in your pipeline automatically, with the job details attached, instead of only living inside the Thumbtack app. This guide covers adding the integration in Alivo, what happens during activation with Thumbtack, and linking an agent so Evan can text new leads fast.

1. Create the Thumbtack Integration in Alivo

Go to Settings → Integrations → Lead Sources. Click Add, choose Lead Source, then select Thumbtack.

Find Your Thumbtack ID

Enter your Thumbtack business ID in the Account ID field. To find it:

  1. Log in to your Thumbtack account.
  2. Go to your Thumbtack profile.
  3. Look at the number at the end of your profile URL in the browser address bar.

For example, if your profile link is https://www.thumbtack.com/profile/services/1234/, your Thumbtack ID is 1234.

Save the integration in Alivo.

Keep in mind: After you save, Alivo submits a request with the Thumbtack partnerships team to enable the connection. You will be copied on an email about it. Please reply to confirm so the integration can be activated. You do not configure a webhook in Thumbtack yourself.

2. What Happens During Activation

Thumbtack integrations are enabled through a partnership process, not a self-serve webhook paste. Once Thumbtack and Alivo confirm the connection, new leads from your Thumbtack account are sent to Alivo automatically. Leads are matched using your Thumbtack business ID.

If you use Thumbtack Instant Book, there is a separate integration called Thumbtack (Instant Book) in Alivo. Add that one too if you want automatic texting on instant-book jobs specifically.

3. Associate an Agent

  1. On Lead Sources, click Edit on your Thumbtack integration.
  2. In the Agent dropdown, select the agent that should handle Thumbtack leads (Evan for text follow-up).
  3. Save.
  4. Go to Agents and confirm that agent is Active.

When a Thumbtack lead arrives, Alivo creates the contact with job details and questions from the inquiry. If your agent is linked and active, Evan can start a text conversation automatically.

4. Test and Confirm

After activation is confirmed, trigger or wait for a Thumbtack lead and verify:

  • The contact is in your pipeline with Thumbtack as the source.
  • Phone, name, and address came through.
  • Evan sent the opening text.

Common Questions

Why Did I Save the Integration but Nothing Is Coming In?
The Thumbtack partnership activation may still be pending. Check your email for a message from Alivo or Thumbtack and reply to confirm. Also verify your Account ID matches the number at the end of your Thumbtack profile URL.

Do I Need Thumbtack (Instant Book) Too?
Only if you accept Instant Book jobs on Thumbtack and want those handled with automatic texting. Standard Thumbtack inquiries use the regular Thumbtack integration.

Thumbtack is mostly a waiting game after setup: add your profile ID in Alivo, confirm the partnership email, link an active agent, and let Evan beat the other pros to the reply.
